Tordue Lounge - Black Ashwood

The weaving and twisting of wood

In the silence of the forest, the trees speak as they bend and twist under the pressure of time and wind, ever in search of light. This generously proportioned lounge chair is a tribute to that silent resilience, a translation of the natural twists in the wood that defies the elements.

Crafted from solid ash, the structure is the culmination of meticulous craftsmanship. Through a process of tension and transformation, whole slats are steam-bent and then milled to reveal a fluid, twisted geometry. Each element of the chair twists upon itself, offering unexpected shapes and a silhouette that shifts with the viewpoint. From every new angle or distance, the wood reveals a fresh grain and an original shadow. The seat, low and generous, hand-woven from paper cord, evokes a sense of rustic, natural luxury. Its generous proportions are intentional and suggest a comfortable, relaxed pause. The tactile quality of the smooth, prominent grain recalls the pleasure one feels when touching a tree branch.
