Steadly more rarefied, fewer and fewer materials, closer and closer to nothingness.
—Michele De Lucchi
A lamp blown and made from a single tube of borosilicate glass, this constitutes a high mastery of Italian craftsmanship. It has an elegant mushroom shape with a large hole at the top. In the same way as a flying saucer, it lands and radiates light. Part of the shade is treated with a silver plating that embellishes the glass, partially masks the direct light of the bulb and gives it an airy, spatial appearance. The polished chrome metal lamp holder is visible through the transparent stem, it is an integral part of the design of the lamps produced by Produzione Privata. The nakedness of the components, the exaltation of the peculiarities, the care of execution that enhances the human gesture of the craftsman are the principles of Produzione Privata that find a manifesto in this lamp.
